We survived the first 2 years! Our boys are officially 2!
Here is the last picture of Alex as a 1 year old
But now they're 2! Ben

Ben with a bucket. Alex with 2 suckers (he requires 2 at a time now. weirdo.)
Alex on the left with 2 suckers. Ben on the right. This is what it looks like when 2 toddlers are standing on a chair facing you counting to 3 before they jump on you and your camera.
One.... Two......
Just for fun... here is a picture of me when I was about 18 months. I sent it to Cody today and he asked if it was Ben.
I made their birthday cake. Cody and I have had a few (a lot more than a few) arguments over birthday cake. He believes they should be home made (technically from a box). I think that birthday cake is something you buy from a store. This one point of our upbringing seems to be a major point of contention. This year we compromised. Their actual cake was lovingly made by me, and their birthday party cake will be made by helpful elves at Hy-Vee. After seeing how this cake turned out, Cody may be fine with future cakes being made by store elves.
Please ignore their wet shirts. I gave them birthday suckers. That makes them really slobbery. Also, the house is a mess. Really it isn't as bad as it looks. That is just 1 toy box tipped over, but it still looks like a tornado hit it.
Ben left, Alex right
Here is a fair warning to anyone coming to their birthday party. They are not great at blowing out candles. You will see an awful lot of spit hitting that cake.
Enjoying their cake
Ben talking about how much he enjoyed his cake
These were taken a few days ago, but here you go.
I bought a toddler activities book. It has been fabulous. This activitiy is just playdough and straws cut in half. They make porcupines by sticking the straws in the playdough. It seems silly, but it will keep them busy for an insanely long time. Like 45 or more minutes. Crazy
